Memories of Me. . . (TAG)

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember! If we're only blogging friends, write about a post that is most memorable.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll be sure to write one about you... either on your blog, in my comment box, or I will email you back!

3. If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all ☺....that's not true---go ahead and say it---see if it changes anything!

Magical Mirror

Chloe came running from very excited from the bathroom. She came to me and said, "mommy, the mirror is magical." I said "oh, really." She said "if you have a shirt with words on it and you look in the mirror it changes the letters around!" I said, "oh, it makes the word backwards?" She said "yeah! Come see, you have words on your shirt." I mustered up some excitement and followed her into the bathroom to see the 'magical mirror'. Oh, to be young again! Kids are fun.

GUESS WHAT???

I actually felt pretty darn good this morning!! I woke up without nausea and was able to eat breakfast without it coming back up! I had a bit more energy and actually felt like getting some things done!! I think I was more productive this morning alone than I have been in the last month. . .I actually did dishes, cleaned the kitchen, laundry, vacuuming, and I think I'll actually cook a decent dinner tonight! (that is if I can rest a bit this afternoon. I am totally exhausted now and a tad nauseated, but not enough to be a problem).

Anyway, I just am really excited and hope that I continue to have more days like this morning!

4-year old conversation

Chloe: "Brooke, do you want to help me go potty?"
Brooke: "No thanks"
Chloe: "Will you give me the toilet paper when I need it?"
Brooke: "Sure. Do a little dance. That always helps"
Chloe: "I have a little potty wiggle"

*listening to their uninterrupted exchange was just too funny! (Brooke is Chloe's good friend who was at our house some this week)

Fireworks, swimming, and a wedding

Okay, yes, I'm just now getting around to posting about or fun-filled July 4th weekend. July 4th was fun. First we spent a few hours at my sister, DeeAnn's, home swimming in their awesome pool! I was so glad to be rid of that Zofran pump so I could swim too! However, I failed to take my camera, so no pics of that outing. . . Chloe and Aaron LOVE going to play with their cousins Beth and Josh!

Later that evening, we had some family and friends over for a potluck hot dog dinner and fireworks. The fireworks show for our city is visible from our front yard (well, not only visible, but almost like having front row seats!) We had LOTS of food, kids had fun, and all enjoyed the fireworks. Chloe was vibrant during the show--she often said "woo hoo" or "I love fireworks" and would jump out of her seat. Aaron, just watched without much movement (actually began to fall asleep at the end--one exhausted boy considering how loud fireworks are and his eyes were closing. . .)

Then, on Saturday evening, Simon's sister Claudia got married to Scott on a sailboat! It was a beautiful day! Susan, a friend of ours who has a daughter Chloe's age, kept Chloe and Aaron for us. It's been a while since Simon and I have been on a date (I mean actually leaving the house without the kids. . .we sometimes watch a movie or something at home after they go to bed. . .)

Anyway the weather was nice and the sailboat ride was cool. However, 2 hours was a long time for me to be on the boat (being pregnant it only made my nausea a little worse). But, I survived and enjoyed myself (though I had scoped the place out to figure out where the best place would be to lean over the vote and vomit if the need arose--I decided to use a plastic sack, if that was necessary--avoid having the wind blow it all back in my face. . .okay, gross. Luckily I kept everything down.
Scott & Claudia
Then, after the boat ride, there was a dinner and dance reception. Very nice! We enjoyed the evening and are very happy for Scott and Claudia! Scott seems to be a great guy and he and his family really seem to love Claudia's two kiddoes--and the kiddoes seem to love them back! We're excited to have him in the family.

Below is a picture of Simon and I at the wedding. I didn't take my camera but Vipha emailed me a few of the great pics she took.

LeVar Family Reunion 2008

Okay, I'm finally getting around to finishing my record of this event. It was the 2008 LeVar Family Reunion in Nashville, Tennesse. Hosted by Natalie's Aunt Freda and Uncle Chuck. I was off the zofran pump by the time we left and was able to get by with just taking a zofran pill in the morning and evening. I was able to enjoy the trip (though I did keep thinking about how great it will be when I get to go to subsequent ones NOT pregnant and really feel good enough to fully enjoy the festivities!)

We stayed with Nat's cousin Brad and his wife Zoe the first night we were there. It was nice to have some one-on-one time with them before the whole group was around. The next couple of nights we were at a hotel (the same one as Nat's other siblings & families and an aunt and uncle)

Friday night we had a yummy fried chicken picnic! The kids had a great time in the park (Aaron especially liked the sandbox and would pretend to be swimming in the sand. . .needless to say he was in need of a hose down when we got back to the hotel!).

On Saturday we had a pizza lunch at a cool YMCA water park. Chloe seemed to play especially well with Miroslava (Nat's cousin Rhett's daughter--see below).

Saturday Night was a yummy catered dinner/family talent show in the gym of their church building. Chloe and Aaron didn't perform, but enjoyed the other perfermances. Before the dinner, they discovered the nursery room with toys and spent a lot of time in there. . .

Below is a video with a short clip of Aaron and Barrett (Nat's cousin Brad's son) playing in the sandbox at the picnic (well, I think Barrett came and took a stick Aaron had and ran and Aaron ran after him--but didn't seem too bothered by it). Then a few of the kids on swings.

Also, is a short clip of Natalie's brother, Thad, doing the beginning of a karaoke song and then some clips of after it was all over and the kids were playing with the adults cleaned up.

On Sunday we drove back to Arkadelphia, spent the night with Nat's brother, Alan, and his family and then drove home to good ole Texas on Monday :-)

Pregnancy Ramblings

Okay, so I keep thinking I'm past the nausea and vomitting, but it keeps rearing its ugly head. . .At least I'm not constantly nauseated anymore and I throw up only a couple of times a week. But, I finally went and refilled my zofran Rx because I was having so much nausea over the past week or so.

Even though the nausea isn't so bad, there are some constant that have yet to go away at all: LOTS of headaches, extreme fatigue, no appetite, bad taste in my mouth, ALL food sours in my stomach and leaves a bad taste (no matter how good it was going down. . .). It all just stinks.

I was talking with a friend from church, Alysha, who is also pregnant. She totally understood what I was talking about with all the symptoms in my last paragraph! She's had the same thing her entire pregnancy and is due in August. Unfortunately, she's also had some heart problems (unexplained racing heart at times) that's a bit scary.

It's strange how our bodies respond differently to pregnancies. I have a couple of other friends who are pregnant and every time I ask they say they feel fine and haven't had any sickness. Then, another lady I talked with who has five grown children, said she was only sick with one of them. Then there's my sister-in-law who's sick the entire 9 months and it got worse with each subsequent child (she stopped at 4). And there's me who was sick the entire 9 months with Chloe, about 5 months with Aaron, and yet to find out when it will end with this one. But, even with Aaron, the bad taste in my mouth and sour stomach lasted the whole time. Then there's my sisters who also both had it rough at least into their second trimesters. Then, there are the rare jewels who actually feel better and enjoy pregnancy. The world should be filled with those!

Okay, that's enough rambling about pregnancies. Just some of my thoughts to look back on.

It's a Girl

Yep, we had a sonogram on Monday and baby #3 is going to be a girl! Chloe is way excited and has a name picked out and everything (Elysia). Aaron is excited to have a baby--I don't think he cares much if it's a boy or a girl since he usually just say the opposite of what Chloe says she wants. . .

I guess I could scan in a sonogram pic. . .we'll see.
